Connect activities get students ready to learn. Choose one or two of the activities below to introduce this week’s lesson.
Especially for Younger Students: Create This
(10 minutes, easy set up)
Students will create an inanimate object with very few materials to work with.
Provide brown paper lunch bags, index cards, and pens.
Especially for Older Students: Got Questions?
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will identify questions they would ask God if they had the chance.
Provide large sheets of craft paper or newpaper, markers, and tape.
Master Teacher Option: Got Questions?

Students will identify questions they would ask God if they had the chance.
Create a slide show. Provide paper and markers for students.
Explore
Explore activities lead students to study Scripture. Teach the Key Study to focus on the Biblical Truth. If you choose, support the Key Study with one or two of the following activities.
Interactive Key Study: He’s Always Existed
(15-20 minutes, easy set up)
Students will examine Genesis 1:1-5 and Acts 17:22-28 to discover that God has always existed and needs nothing.
Provide a copy of the Student Worksheet and a pen for each student. Also provide a dry erase board and markers.
Master Teacher Key Study: He’s Always Existed

Students will examine Genesis 1:1-5 and Acts 17:22-28 to discover that God has always existed and needs nothing.
Print one copy of the Master Teacher Key Study for your use. Provide a copy of the Student Worksheet and a pen for each student.
Especially for Younger Students: Keeping Everybody Happy
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will consider how difficult it would be for the Greeks to keep all of their gods happy all the time.
Provide a dry erase board and markers.
Especially for Older Students: Picturing Athens
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will look up photos and illustrations to get a visual picture of the place where Paul delivered his sermon in Athens.
Provide a dry erase board and markers.
Transform
Choose one or two Transform activities to challenge students to live differently. Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit ultimately brings about change, so help students draw near to Him.
Deeper Discussion
(5–10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will discuss what it means that God has always existed and needs nothing.
Especially for Younger Students: Understanding God

Take Home Activity
The Take Home Activity gives families the opportunity to study the biblical passage together and discuss how each member of the family might apply the truths from the lesson to his or her life.
Family Devotion
(10-15 minutes at home, easy set-up)
Distribute copies of the Family Devotion to students and encourage them to share the devotion with their family.
