Especially for Older Students: Got Questions?

(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will identify questions they would ask God if they had the chance.
Provide large sheets of craft paper or newpaper, markers, and tape.

Tape a large sheet of craft paper, or tape several pages from the newspaper, to one wall to create a long response area where students can gather. On the paper, write the question, “If you could ask God questions, what would they be?”

As students arrive, give each a marker and encourage them to respond to the question you’ve written on the paper you’ve taped to the wall. After three or four minutes, review their questions. Look for common things (such as questions about the future) and point those out. If needed, you can add some of these questions asked by students on a college campus:

Ask: How does it feel to have questions you want to ask God? Do you think He minds when you ask questions? Why? Say: One way God has provided us with answers to some of these questions is by what He has revealed to us about Himself through Scripture. Explain that in today’s Bible study, students will have the opportunity to consider some of the attributes that are a part of God’s nature.
