Connect Activity
Connect activities get students ready to learn. Choose one or two of the activities below to introduce this week’s lesson.
Drama: A New Life
(5–10 minutes, moderate set-up)
Students will watch a drama about a person who leaves an old lifestyle for a better one.
Especially for Younger Students: The Kingdom Of . . .
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will design their own kingdoms to introduce the concept of God’s Kingdom.
Especially for Older Students: Authentic
(15–20 minutes, moderate set-up)Students will design brand logos and consider the authenticity of their lives.
Explore Activity
Explore activities lead students to study Scripture. Teach the Key Study to focus on the Biblical Truth. If you choose, support the Key Study with one or two of the following activities.
Key Study: God Culture
(15–20 minutes, moderate set-up)
Students will study Matthew 5:1–10 and consider the meaning of the Beatitudes.
Master Teacher Key Study: The Inversion of Old Standards
(15–20 minutes, moderate set-up)
Students will study Matthew 5:1–10 and consider the meaning of the Beatitudes.
Especially for Younger Students: A Blessing Count
(5–10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will list blessings in their lives and consider the true meaning of the word blessed.
Especially for Older Students: To Be or Not to Beatitudes
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will use a matching activity to do a word study in the Beatitudes.
Transform Activity
Choose one or two Transform activities to challenge students to live differently. Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit ultimately brings about change, so help students draw near to Him.
Deeper Discussion

Students will discuss ways to live out the Beatitudes in their daily lives.
Especially for Younger Students: Taste God's Goodness
(10–15 minutes, moderate set-up)
Students will use taste as a metaphor to understand the Beatitudes.
Especially for Older Students: Being Real

Students will express ways to experience the blessings of the Beatitudes.
Creative Prayer
