Table Talk Question
Why is it often difficult to be grateful to God for the blessings He has given to us?
Context
Luke 17:11-19 records Jesus’ encounter with ten lepers who asked Him to heal them. Jesus healed all ten, but only one—the most unlikely one—returned to show gratitude for what Jesus had done for him. This lesson gives believers the opportunity to evaluate whether they are most like the nine who accepted Jesus’ healing without gratitude or the solitary man who did.
Learning Goals
- Students will compare the responses of the lepers that Jesus healed.
- Students will evaluate their own responses of gratitude to God for the blessings He has brought to their lives.
Prayer Suggestions
As you prepare to teach, pray for your students.
- Pray that students will receive God’s blessings, ultimately found in Jesus’ death on the cross.
- Pray that students will examine their lives for the blessings they have received, and then show God gratitude for those blessings.Pray that God will inspire your students to share His blessings with the people around
