Table Talk Question
Why is it often difficult to be grateful to God for the blessings He has given to us?
Biblical Truth
Our gratitude for God’s involvement in our lives is just as important as our prayers.
Context
Luke 17:11-19 records Jesus’ encounter with ten lepers who asked Him to heal them. Jesus healed all ten, but only one—the most unlikely one—returned to show gratitude for what Jesus had done for him. This lesson gives believers the opportunity to evaluate whether they are most like the nine who accepted Jesus’ healing without gratitude or the solitary man who did.
Learning Goals
- Learners will compare the responses of the lepers that Jesus healed.
- Learners will evaluate their own responses of gratitude to God for the blessings He has brought to their lives.
Prayer Suggestions
As you prepare to teach this lesson, pray for your learners.
- Pray that learners will evaluate how they respond to God's blessings in their lives.
- Pray that learners will meditate on God's goodness and be filled with the gratitude for the blessings He has given them.
- Pray that learners will express their thankfulness to God through a life filled with gratitude to Him.
