Table Talk Question

How can I live a life that is pleasing to God?

Biblical Truth

As part of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit imparts holiness through His presence and power in the lives of believers.

Context

For many believers, the Holy Spirit is the least understood person of the Trinity (Father, Son, Spirit). We often see God as our Heavenly Father and recognize Him as the Creator and Sustainer of all things. We know Jesus as God’s Son, fully divine yet also fully human, who further reveals God to us. We embrace Jesus’ work of salvation on our behalf and relate to Him as the One who understands the human experience. In this lesson, learners will understand that the Holy Spirit empowers them to live holy lives that are pleasing to God.

Learning Goals
  • Learners will examine how the Holy Spirit empowered Jesus to live a sinless life and then raised Him from the dead.
  • Learners will identify ways that the Holy Spirit empowers them to live holy lives.
Prayer Suggestions

As you prepare to teach, pray for your learners.

  • Pray that learners will understand that holiness cannot be attained by human efforts.
  • Pray that learners will desire the holiness that comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit.
  • Pray that God will increase each learner’s desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
