The overview tab gives you a broad overview of the lesson. It gives you a brief introduction, the treasure story and treasure verse, lists teaching activities, materials needed, and prayer points for each lesson.

Treasuring Christ Introduction

The book of Joshua continues the storyline of the Pentateuch.  After Moses’ death, God commissions Joshua to lead the Israelites into the land of Canaan by first crossing the Jordan River.  As they begin their conquest of the Promised Land, God’s Word and His presence are their source of guidance, comfort, courage and strength.

Toddler: God performed a miracle at the Jordan River to show that He keeps His promises.
Preschool: God chose Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land.
Kids: God provided for Israel through the leadership of Joshua and the faith of Rahab. God provides us with Jesus to save us from our sin.

Prayer Points
  • Ask God to make you and the people of your church more like the blessed man in Psalm 1:1-3.  Pray that God will help you make His Word a priority.
  • Pray that God will protect you and your church from wandering away from the Scriptures. Pray that you will be a people who not merely hear the Word but do what the Word says (James 1:22-24).
  • Pray that God’s presence will be a powerful source of contentment in your life so that you are set free from slavery to other passions (Hebrews 13:5).
