Especially for the Younger Students: Creative Character

(5–8 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will draw a picture of what they think happiness looks like.

(5–8 minutes, easy set-up)
Provide paper and pens.

Distribute paper and pens to students. Then direct students to draw what they think happiness looks like. Allow two minutes for this. Next, enlist some volunteers to show their drawings to the class. Show each drawing, one by one, to the class. Allow students to guess who created each drawing. If students are correct in their guess, allow them to explain why they guessed that way. Ask: What do these drawings reveal about the person who made them? Allow students a couple of minutes to respond, emphasizing that what we create reveal a lot about ourselves, such as our attention to detail, creative potential, outlook on life, and level of respect for the object.

Conclude the activity by saying: Today we will look at how creation reveals God’s character.
