Deeper Discussion

(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will discuss Jesus’ command to make disciples and how His words give them purpose.

Learning Goal: Students will apply their understanding by committing to join with Jesus Christ in making disciples of all nations.

Ask a student to read Matthew 28:17–20. Ask:

Have you lived your life any differently since you came to believe in Jesus? How has Christ’s resurrection made a difference in your life?
What is your role in God’s worldwide mission?
If God called you to leave your home and close friends and go share His good news with people you’ve never met—perhaps with a people group whose language you don’t even know—would you do it?

Explain that missions is not about going but about telling. Ask:

Do you tell others about Jesus at school and in your community?
Who is someone you see almost every day who doesn’t know Christ? How can you express your love for Jesus today through specific actions to that person?
