(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will identify actions that accompany different responses to Christ.
Provide dry erase board and marker.
Learning Goal: Students will verbalize their response to the resurrection of Christ.
On the dry erase board, write the following as column headings: The Needy, Your Future, Relationships, Money. Explain that these are just a few categories of life that we will discuss. Then, ask: What would it look like to fully follow Jesus in each of these categories? Encourage students to discuss and voice what it would look like to be a genuine follower of Jesus. Write their answers under each category. Work through the same scenario with the next two questions: What would our lives look like if we intellectually agree that Jesus is the Messiah but to not trust in Him as Savior and Lord? What would our lives look like in these areas if we reject Jesus in our lives?
Ask: Looking at what we’ve written on the board, how do these different responses affect the way that we live? How should they affect the way that we live? Emphasize that responding to Christ has an eternal impact but also affects our daily decisions and actions. Say: The consequences of
embracing or rejecting Christ are eternal but also daily, and our actions will reflect what is truly in our hearts. Lead students in prayer, asking God to help students consider how their actions reflect the response of their hearts to Christ and to decide if they need to make decisions and changes in their lives.
