Toddler: Arrival and Welcome Activity

(20 minutes)

Teacher Note: Playtime is crucial at this age level. It encourages socialization skills, sharpens motor skills, and allows the children to express their own unique creativity. Two-year-olds usually play near other children, while three-year-olds often play with other children. Since they are naturally curious about everything at this stage, it is important to provide a variety of playtime resources. It is recommended that a new playtime resource be rotated into the classroom every few weeks. Some suggestions include play dough, puzzles, musical instruments, building blocks, matching games, board books, and costumes for dramatic play.

As the children arrive, encourage them to play and explore.
