Gene Wilkes is Senior Pastor of Legacy Church in Plano, Texas, where he has served since 1987. Gene was in student ministry for fourteen years prior to becoming the pastor at Legacy. Gene’s wife, Kim, is a high school math teacher and cheerleader sponsor. They have two daughters. Storey graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005, and Summer attends Baylor University. They have a yelllow Labrado retriever named Madison. Gene’s hobbies are writing and running. He has completed marathons, 50K runs, a 50-mile run, and 73.5 miles of a 100-mile run before he had to stop because of an injury. He still wants to complete a 100-mile run. Gene is the author of Jesus on Leadership: Discovering the Secrets of Servant Leadership from the Life of Christ. The workbook has been translated into Spanish, and the trade book edition has been translated into eight foreign languages. Gene has also written My Identity in Christ and With All My Soul: God’s Design for Spiritual Wellness, part of LifeWay’s Fit4 materials. Paul on Leadership: Servant Leadership is a Ministry Transition was released in March 2004. He is currently working on two new Bible study books.
