Today’s Treasure Verse is Exodus 19:5-6a: “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice . . . you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” For this age group, you may also choose to summarize the verse by saying, “Obey [God’s] voice.”
Remind the children that God gave the Israelites 10 commandments or rules to obey. If the Israelites would obey the commandments, God promised to make them His special people. Remind the children that God wants us to obey Him so that we can live the best way—God’s way!
Read the entire Treasure Verse to the class. Then lead the children in the following motions to help them learn the abbreviated version of the verse:
Obey (Hold your arms in the shape of an “O.”)
God’s (Point upward.)
voice (Put your hands around your mouth like a megaphone.)
Repeat the shortened verse several times with the motions.
