Master Teacher Option: Jesus to Me

(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will write who Jesus is to them.
Provide paper and a pen for each student. Create a presentation slide as described below.

Learning Goal: Students will consider how they continue to respond to Jesus’ entrance into their lives.

Create a presentation slide with the heading Jesus to Me with these prompts:

Distribute paper and pens to students and instruct students to write Jesus to Me at the top of the paper. Then, display the presentation slide you’ve created and share that students will have the opportunity to think about who Jesus is to them as you guide them through the prompts on the screen. First, instruct students to think about a noun that best describes Jesus to them at this point in their lives (such as Christ, Savior, Friend) and to write that under the title on their papers. Point out that there is NO right or wrong answer, because this is all personal.

Then, lead students through the following prompts, allowing 30 seconds between each prompt:

After this process is complete, encourage students to join two or three other students and to share what they’ve written with the students in these groups. After a couple of minutes for groups to share, conclude in prayer: Jesus, help us continue to know you better and to strengthen our relationship with you as we journey with You. Amen.
