Master Teacher Key Study: He Was Born to Be God with Us

(15–20 minutes, easy set-up)
Learners will study Isaiah 7:14-16 and Matthew 1:21b-23 to examine God’s intentional plan to send His Son to be God with us.
Print one copy of the Master Teacher Outline for your use. Provide a copy of the Learner Worksheet and a pen for each learner.

Pass out pens and copies of the Learner Worksheet. Then use the Master Teacher Outline to teach Isaiah 7:14-16 and Matthew 2:21b-23. Afterward, divide learners into groups to discuss the following questions:

God gave the promise of Immanuel to King Ahaz and the people of Judah. How did this promise demonstrate God’s long-term intentions?
Why was the land where Judah resided so important to the coming of Immanuel?
How does learning about God’s long-term plan and commitment to see it come to pass impact the way you trust and follow the living God?
