Discussion Questions
(5-8 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will discuss how the depth of God’s love for them is revealed through the birth of His Son.
Learning Goal: Students will describe the depth of God’s love for us shown in the preparation for the birth of His Son.
Lead students to discuss God’s intentional plan for sending His Son to be Immanuel, God with us. These questions can be found on the Student Worksheet.
- Share with the group about a time in your life when you saw evidence of God’s plan for you. How did that make you feel?
- God’s plan to send Jesus to this earth was put into motion before Creation. God always knew that Jesus was the only way to redeem humanity. What are some of the amazing benefits for us brought about by Christ’s birth, life, death, and resurrection?
- Even with all the prophecy in Scripture that Jesus fulfilled, why do you think that some people fail to believe that Jesus is God’s Son, sent from Him to show us the way to eternal life?
- How can you express your thanks to God for His plan to send Christ into this world?
Encourage students to use this study in Advent to continue to consider God’s intentional plan for sending His Son to be Immanuel, God with us.
