Learners will watch a video clip about “mom sayings” and discuss what they will not compromise in parenting.

Ask: How many times have you thought over the years, “I will never say to my children the things my mom said to me?” Explain that you are going to show a video clip of a mom’s song in which she included many things that moms say to their children in a day. Show the clip.
Ask: How many times have you heard these sayings or said them yourself? Do they represent non-negotiables for you when you think about the way you want to parent? Why?
Say: We all have areas in our lives we are unwilling to negotiate or compromise. Today’s lesson will give us the opportunity to consider the actions of three men who were unwilling to compromise—even to save their lives.
