Relational: Holiday Reflection

(5–8 minutes, easy setup)
Learners will discuss holiday traditions and keeping Christmas Christ focused.
Provide a dry erase board and a marker.

Divide learners into groups of three and write the following prompts on the board:

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
What is the greatest Christmas gift you have ever given?
How do you keep your Christmas celebration focused on Jesus?
How can you reflect God’s love to others around you during this Christmas season?

Encourage groups to use the prompts to guide their discussions. After three or four minutes, call time and encourage two or three learners to briefly share their experiences with the entire class. Then, share that the greatest gift we could ever receive is the love of God. Conclude that in today’s lesson, learners will examine how the birth of Christ was an act of love from God.
