Deeper Discussion

(5–10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will discuss how Jesus’ birth demonstrated the presence of God’s love for us.

Learning Goal: Learners will reflect on one aspect of God’s love that was present at Jesus’ birth.

Lead students to describe how the birth of Jesus revealed God’s love for them by discussing the following questions:

What is love, and how does God show it?
If you were God, whom would you have told first about Jesus’ birth?
How does the humble circumstances around Jesus birth show God’s love?
How can you live differently today because of God’s love shown through the birth of Jesus?

Divide learners into groups of two or three to share what the presence of God’s love in the birth of His Son means to them personally. Encourage learners to close by praying for each other to recognize God’s love in their lives at all times.
