(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will describe ways they would profess their love to someone.
Provide paper and pen.
Distribute sheets of paper and pens to students and instruct them to write a list of the best, most extravagant and most unexpected Christmas gifts they’ve ever received. After a minute of so, call on a student to share one of his/her gifts from her list, and then lead other students to share others in “popcorn” fashion (one quickly after another without any discussion).
Ask: What makes a gift extravagant? (over-the-top; cost a lot; really large) Share that the birth of Jesus is God’s most extravagant gift to us.
