Preschool: End-of-Day Activities

(10 minutes or until the parents pick up their children)
Supplies Needed: Newspapers, fingerpaint, small plates, paper, children’s books

Teacher Note: These are activities to do while waiting for the parents to pick up their children. Remember that parents will come at different times. If possible, have one teacher at the door saying “good-bye” to the students as they leave. Have another teacher engaging the rest of the class in an activity to keep their attention.

Teacher Note: Cover the tables with newspapers before beginning this activity. Assist the children with pulling up their sleeves if necessary. Pour small amounts of fingerpaint onto the small plates and set them on the table.

  1. Invite the students to the table for a fingerpainting project. Remind them of today’s Treasure Story and how Paul said that we could see God’s power by just looking at His creation. Everyone can know God’s power by seeing His handiwork in the world. Paul said that even though people could see God’s power in creation, some still rejected Him. Instruct the students to use the fingerpaint provided to paint a picture of something in God’s creation that shows His power and points us to worshiping Him.
  2. Have the children sit in a semi-circle on the floor as they listen to you read them a book.
