Toddler: Bible Study Time

(10 minutes)
Supplies Needed: Teaching Aid resource page

Teacher Note: Have the children form a semi-circle on the story time rug. Start your story time with a few stretches to get the wiggles out. Go over your expectations for Bible Story Time (hands in their laps, feet on the floor, listen to you when it is your turn to talk, etc.). Make sure you have the Bible open on your lap while you tell the story.

Below is a Bible story that you can read word-for-word to your students.

The Bible tells us in the book of Romans that God is righteous. “Righteous” means that God is perfect and holy. He has never done anything wrong or evil. The power of God is described all through the Bible (Romans 1:16-17).

But not everyone in the world owns a Bible. How can these people know about God? The Bible tells us that we can see God’s holy power through the things He has created (Romans 1:20). Can you help me name some of the things God has made? (Allow the children to name things God has created. As they name various components of creation, discuss how they illustrate God’s infinite power.)

We named several things that show us God’s amazing power.

Teacher Note: Show the Teaching Aid resource page (see resources) at this time.

Not only did He create rainbows, mountains, animals, and people, He created a way for us to belong to Him. Whom did God send to show His powerful love toward people? God sent Jesus! God’s great love is amazing, and so is His power. When we see the sun, moon, flowers, or the ocean, we are reminded of God’s holiness.
