(10 minutes or until you are ready to begin)
Supplies Needed: Brown paper lunch bags, yarn (black, brown and yellow colors needed), scissors, glue, crayons
Teacher Note: Additional activities can be found in the Bible Study Manager by clicking the Extra Resources tab.
Teacher Note: Prior to class, cut small strands of black, brown and yellow yarn for students to use as hair for the puppets they will be making. Also create a puppet to display as an example for the class.
Set out the craft supplies on the table and also place a brown lunch bag at each seat for the students. As they arrive, explain that they will be learning about a man named Joshua from the Bible. God chose Joshua to be the next leader of the Israelites. With this activity, they will be creating a Joshua puppet. Show them the puppet you created earlier and encourage them to be creative as they use their lunch bag and the other supplies to make their own puppets.
