Shepherds: Our Great God

Learners will discuss the greatness of God and how His greatness is shown in His love.

Provide paper and a pen to each group.

Suggest that David’s response to God must be our response to Him as well. Say: This psalm began with an overwhelming sense of the greatness of our God and continued that theme throughout the psalm.

Divide learners into small groups of three or four and distribute paper and pens to each. Instruct each group to chose one member to record the group’s responses to each of the following prompts:

What words come to mind when you think of God’s greatness?
How would you describe God’s greatness to someone else?
How does the knowledge that God is personally involved in your life impact that description?

Encourage the groups to share a few words they have written down. Then, using these words to complete this question, ask: How do you see the love of God because He is . . .? After several statements have been discussed, challenge the learners to share the greatness of God with others this week.
