Master Teacher Core Study: The Spirit of Holiness
(15–20 minutes, easy setup)
Learners will study Romans 1:1–6 to examine how the Holy Spirit empowered Jesus to live a sinless life and then raised Him from the dead.
Print one copy of the Master Teacher Outline for your use. Provide a copy of the Learner Worksheet and a pen for each learner.
Use the Teaching Outline to teach Romans 1:1-6. Then, lead learners to form small groups and discuss the following questions:
- Why did Jesus need the power of the Holy Spirit in His life?
- What do you think it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
- Can humans be filled with the Spirit to the same degree that Jesus was filled with the Spirit?
- How can you recognize the power of the Holy Spirit in your life?
- What would happen to the Church if every believer allowed the Holy Spirit full control of his or her life?
