Discoverers: Who is Jesus?

(5–8 minutes, easy set-up)
Learners will discuss how to use everyday conversations to tell people about Christ.

(5–8 minutes, easy set-up)
Print one copy of the Who is Jesus? activity sheet. Also provide several sheets of butcher paper, markers, and tape.

Ask: If someone asked you to explain your faith in Jesus, how would you respond? What if they asked you to describe ways that Jesus cares for you? Suggest that one way of sharing our faith is to describe our personal experiences with Jesus.

Divide learners into three groups, giving each group a sheet of butcher paper, markers, and one of the pictures of Jesus from the Who is Jesus? activity sheet. Instruct each group to list some of the ways that Jesus reveals Himself to people today based on the ideas prompted by their picture. (Example: Jesus on the cross––He sacrificed His life for me.) Give groups three to five minutes to write down their thoughts before taping their sheets to the wall. Encourage each group to share their comments with the class. Then ask: What are some ways that we can use everyday conversations with others as opportunities to share Christ? If we have experienced Christ in our lives, why are we hesitant to share Him with others? How can we become bold witnesses for Him?
