(8–10 minutes, easy set-up)
Provide a copy of the Law and Order activity sheet for each learner.
Distribute copies of the Law and Order activity sheets. Let volunteers read the laws aloud. After reactions, discuss: What do you think is the strangest law listed at the top? Why do you think it was originally approved? Allow responses, then ask: What is the strangest law listed at the bottom? Why do you think it was originally instated? Allow more responses. Ask: If the laws are in Scripture, what do we do with them today? After responses, explain that the Old Testament includes some strange laws. There are Laws about mildew, skin rashes, and even where you can go to the bathroom. Though these laws may seem outdated and useless, they originally had meaning. Say: Today we will learn that the Old Testament Law still has great purpose.
