Master Teacher Option: The Information Age

(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will consider the vast amount of knowledge available to them.

(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Provide dry erase board, and dry erase marker.

Ask: How many of you have smartphones? How many of you use your smartphones to get on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google? What kind of information are you looking for when you use these sites? Lead students to call out their favorite websites and list several of these on the board. Then, encourage students to share the amount of time they think they spend on those websites each day and list these beside the identified site (such as 25 mins., 2 hrs).

Share that one in every five people in the world owns a smartphone. State that one of the benefits of having all this information readily available is the unlimited access to knowledge and information. Share that our smart phones can also do harm because they often distract us from the people around us.

Say: God knows it all; He’s seen it all; and He has power over everything. Explain that today's lesson reminds us that God’s love for us is displayed through His power, presence, and knowledge.
