(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Students will create a model representing their favorite item from nature.
(10 minutes, easy set-up)
Provide containers of Play-Doh.
Distribute Play-Doh to students. Challenge students to create a model of their favorite thing found in nature—like an animal, a flower, leaf, acorn. After three minutes, invite students to show their models to the group. Ask: How much do you know about the real object that your model is based upon? Do you know how it works? How it lives? How it dies? Can you know the specific details about that object through your own creation? Why?
Share that God did not create models, but He created the living elements of our world, and knows exactly how they exist and thrive. Say: That includes knowing everything about you as well. Explain that today’s lesson emphasizes that God shows His love for us through His knowledge about us, His love for us, and His interaction with us.
