Master Teacher Key Study: The Light of Hope

Download the Master Teacher Key Study, which can be used to teach Scripture in a large group setting or lecture format. Preview “The Light Of Hope” on page 7 of the Rooted student book OR download the Student Worksheet. Provide a copy for each student. Also provide pens.

Learning Goal: Students will learn that life-changing power is available to all people who put their hope in the gospel.

Provide the setting for this Scripture by using the provided commentary. Guide students through Ephesians 1:18-23 using the Master Teacher Key Study outline. Direct students to follow along by filling in the blanks and taking any notes on page 7 of the student book. You may choose to follow up in small groups with the following questions for deeper discussion.

• Do you ever feel clueless when you attempt to know God through His Word? Do you sometimes not know where to start? Do you ever feel like you don’t know Him enough? How does Paul’s prayer in these verses encourage you? How do they challenge you to grow in your relationship with Christ?
• How has God proven Himself to be faithful to you by providing you with hope, love, and power?
• If you could be brutally honest, what would you say about when you feel hopeless and lacking God’s power?
• What do you need most right now to help you draw on God’s power for daily life?
