Download the “Blessed” activity sheet. Print one copy for your own use. Also bring half-sheets of blank posters, one with each of the following labels: “Sted Stetler/CEO, Marcy Meister/teacher, Bella Blassingame/hairdresser, and Jerry Jernigan/maintenance man.
Enlist two guys and two girls as volunteers, then hand each of them one of the four signs that you’ve made depending on their gender. Tell each of them to stand off to the side and make their respective entrance as they are introduced.
Using the “Blessed” activity sheet, introduce each volunteer. After the introductions are made, look at students and ask: How are each of these individuals blessed, and how could their careers be used to glorify God? Allow students to respond. Then ask: Which one of these people would you choose to be? Why? Guide the conversation with questions like: Why would you choose to be poor rather than rich or vice versa? What about this life is more appealing? Conclude the activity by stating that it doesn’t matter what sort of blessings or material things are in one’s life—rather, it’s what a person does with those blessings/resources that matters. Say: Any life can glorify God!
