(5 minutes, Prime student book required)
Students will complete an activity about living out holiness.
(5 minutes, Prime student book required)
If your church has purchased the Prime student book, preview the activity on page 19 (Week 1, Day 6). If possible, provide a copy of the book to reference as you mention the activity to students.
Learning Goal: Students will evaluate how their present standard of righteousness compares to God’s standard of righteousness.
As students work through pages 14–19 in the Prime student book this week, challenge them to focus on the activity on page 19. Ask: When people think about you as a Christian, do they think more about the things that you don’t do or about your character? Point out that we often get focused on the things that we aren’t supposed to do as a believer. Explain that being holy, however, doesn’t just mean that we refrain from sinful things; it also means that we live out the holy character of God in a very positive way. Say: Being holy isn’t simply restraint—it’s being active in holiness. Encourage students to take a good look at the lists in this activity and note which one resembles them the most and how they can more actively seek to live out holiness.
